Measurement & Verification in 2020

The NorCal AEE chapter was pleased to present special guest speaker Steve Kromer, P.E. who discussed a variety of topics relating to Measurement & Verification (M&V) in today’s world of energy efficiency. Mr. Kromer was one of the initial developers of what is now the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP) and is an experienced instructor in M&V for AEE and private clients.

The presentation covered the underlying simplicity of the M&V concept, and how it doesn’t always have to be complex to be “correct”. Having good judgement and knowing what is important are key to a successful M&V approach. Also, the presentation discussed how today’s M&V approaches will hold up in a world where the methods of generating and delivering energy are rapidly changing.
