With the recent signing of the Inflation Reduction Act into law, myriad tax incentives for the energy community will become available. The legislation has opened doors for a range of project categories that previously were exempt or limited in their tax benefits. This presentation will give attendees a thorough understanding of how to include these incentives in the calculation of energy and building project financials. This presentation is intended to help the energy industry continue to innovate with the help of new tax incentives signed into law this summer.
This presentation:
- Described the impact of new tax legislation and other tax laws on the energy and building industries
- Explained how to capture new incentives for HVAC systems and other energy efficiency upgrades that significantly reduce the upfront costs of equipment for building owners
- Explored newly revived incentives for alternative energy generation systems and energy-efficiency upgrades
- Covered the new tax-exempt project categories that are now eligible for Energy Policy Act tax benefits
- Discussed other legacy tax incentives available for designers, and how energy companies and building owners can capture these for their economic benefit.
