The CA Independent System Operator (CAISO) is a non-profit corporation chartered by the State of California to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of California’s electric transmission system and to facilitate an open-access market to the Bulk Electric System in California. The facility is now open for tours but is limited to a maximum group of 12. Because of the smaller group size please ensure if you sign up that you will attend. At this time foreign nationals will not be able to participate due to 45 day security clearance requirements.

In the past this tour attracted great participation and highlighted by the view of the control center. This control center is responsible for the high-voltage lines for the grid serving 80% of California and a small part of Nevada. The ISO controls the routing of electrons by facilitating over 28,000 market transactions every day. Join us for this exciting tour.
